Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic Acid

Origin: Produced biotechnologically through microbial fermentation with the aid of yeast extract and peptones and serums.

Sodium hyaluronate

Overview: Hyaluronic acid is an anionic, nonsulfated glycosaminoglycan distributed widely throughout connective, epithelial, and neural tissues. It is one of the components of the extracellular matrix. As such, it significantly contributes to cell proliferation and migration.

It is a natural polysaccharide that is responsible for tissue hydration, lubrication, and stability. It can hold on to 500 times its own weight in water which makes it one of the most powerful moisturizers and humectants available. It smoothes and softens the skin as well as reduces the appearance of wrinkles.
